Some of the charities we have made our donations to and we added some information regarding the charity work:

    Muslim Aid

A UK-based international relief and development agency, Muslim Aid has been working for over two decades to help save and improve the lives of millions in over 70 of the world’s poorest countries.

  • Amnesty
  • We stand up for humans wherever justice, freedom and truth are denied.

We're a movement that produces extraordinary results. Prisoners of conscience are released. Death sentences are commuted. Torturers are brought to justice. Governments are persuaded to change unfair laws and practices.

  • Comic Relief
  • Our vision is ‘a just world free from poverty’. Our mission, thanks to our comedy heritage and the fantastic relationship we enjoy with the BBC, is 'positive change through the power of entertainment'. And our biggest tool, in trying to achieve these two goals, is the ability to inspire people across the whole country especially those who don’t normally do charity - to do charity.

We believe that we are all responsible to make contributions to the community and at SK- Associates we believe that little changes can make a big difference. Between 2007-2009, we raised over £22500 through staff including friends & family, which was donated to various charity organisations. Where we can contribute through voluntary services, we encourage all our colleagues to get involved.

Ways we believe makes a change

  • We believe changing the way you travel to work can reduce climate change effects and local air pollution. As an organisation all our colleagues are provided with travel costs via public transports.

Our office attitude is wherever safe to do so, we turn off all unused electrical equipment over night or when not in use - especially computer monitors and other equipment which gets left on standby switch off lights not being used reduce the size of documents and print double sided to save paper. We have added the slogan ‘Think before you print’ to the bottom of our emails.

  • Since we work in the recruitment and legal industry, we have began in January 2009 to start scanning client documents, to reduce usage of paper, ink by photocopying documents and applications, this way we have reduced at least 2000 copies a week, and by the end of the year in December 2009 all client documents will be scanned. (Please note there may be occasions where we may have to photocopy/print documents however this will only be in exceptional circumstances). All scanned copies are secured and backed up.

Our business activitiy in recruitment attracts a high number of CV's and covering letters, which means paper usuage is at high levels. Taking that in mind we encourage candidates to send their CV’s through email rather through post. Again, our investment into our new job site jobslibrary.co.uk was to support this strategy and improve the efficiency of placing people with the right organisations.

To conclude we believe making you aware, it might also push yourself to go the extra length to help the environment, so lets work together to create a better future.

If you would like to get involved on our charity work, please contact us through appropriate mediums

Donating just a few hours each week can make a real difference within your local area. From helping to run a community based recycling scheme through to providing support over local health issues, there are many ways to help. Many local projects also provide 'commitment free' options for people with limited time.

There are ways you can become involved, please visit the Direct Gov website where you can find useful information.

We also support Cycle to Work which is a tax incentive aimed at encouraging employees to cycle to work, thereby reducing air pollution and improving their health. The scheme allows employees to benefit from a long term loan of bikes and commuting equipment such as lights, locks and panniers completely tax free.
